Jennifer Chew, MPT, MSc., BSc.(Kin)
Jennifer Chew is a Registered Physiotherapist with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia and a Masters of Exercise Science and Health Promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania. She is also a McGill alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.
From her clinical practice in physiotherapy combined with a decades-worth of personal training experience, her strong background in evaluating and optimizing biomechanics and human movement on an individualized basis has become a trusted resource for athletes seeking to improve their running mechanics, overcome injuries and enhance their overall fitness.
As a former competitive distance road runner, Jennifer intimately understands the demands and challenges faced by runners of all levels. Her journey from athlete to physiotherapist fuels her commitment to delivering personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.
Specializing in biomechanical running gait analyses and exercise prescription both for performance and rehabilitation, Jennifer employs a comprehensive approach in her offering of physiotherapy services for endurance runners and multi-sport athletes.
As a previously seasoned personal trainer, Jennifer often integrates strength and conditioning principles in her physiotherapy treatment plans alongside hands-on manual therapy techniques, IMS dry needling and shockwave therapy to help runners address imbalances, correct faulty movement patterns, and optimize their biomechanics to achieve peak performance while minimizing risk of injury, ultimately empowering her clients to reach new heights in their athletic endeavors.
